New Fabric Arrivals!

Fall "Harvest" prints, fleece for those no-sew blankets or jackets/vests, and SUPER fun novelties have arrived at the shop!  We also have a new apron pattern for purchase in the shop which is quite fun and festive. New kits are in the making and should be complete by this weekend's block of the month, and we have new quilts hanging to admire!

Our next generation of seamstresses!

Here are the latest new girls to come to the VS and learn to sew! The girls were very eager to learn how to run the machines and did very well. All are excited about next weeks class on Friday at 4:30!! They will be sewing their first project: Bed pillow initials out of super fun fabrics they picked out themselves. Can't wait ladies!

Barbie has come to visit the VS!

There's no doubt about it -- Barbie® is a pop culture phenomenon. Her career is hotter than ever! And now so is her fabric! Check out the new Barbie line of fabric from V.I.P. Scorching hot pink to fun and fantastic fuschia. Enjoy!

September's Handbag Class:
The Raleigh Bag by The Creative Thimble

The Raleigh Bag is a stylish, fully lined purse with lots of pockets and room for your entire daily needs. It has one outside patch pocket, and 2 pockets in the lining, (one patch and one zippered.) The purse closes at the top with an "easy to insert" zipper. The finished measurements are approx. 12" wide, 9" tall, and 6" deep.

Class fee $10

Date: Sept 21 from 5-9pm

Please allow for 4 hrs and if we need to come back if not complete by 9pm we will discuss arrangements at the class. Knowledge of your machine and basic sewing skills are a must. Please bring your basic sewing notions to class along with your machine.

One Million Pillowcase Challenge!

 I'm sure you've seen this advertised all over, but I thought it would be fun to not only join the challenge, but at the same time have a contest within the shop!

The contest rules are easy.

Make your favorite style pillowcase and  bring it by the shop.

We will showcase it along with all the others made and after one months time a winner will be choosen (by our customers.)

What's the prize?

One fat quarter bundle out of our new Christmas fabrics!

Pillowcases  will then be donated to the challenge!

Starting date: August 14

Ending date: September 13th at closing time

Girls back to School Summer Camp next week!

We are gearing up for our 10 new young ladies signed up for next weeks "Back to School" camp! They will be learning to run full sized sewing machines, and complete several projects they will be able to use in the new school year!  Looking forward to it ladies, see you Monday!

3 Generations of Sewers!

Christmas starting to arrive!

"Gingerland" from Northcott fabrics is among one of our first Christmas prints to arrive! These fun whimsical prints are classical Christmas colors in bright greens, luscious reds, and creams. More prints are due to arrive, so stop by and start you're Christmas projects early this year! 

Nostalgic "Paper Doll" prints will make an adorable Christmas quilt or a festive tablecloth for the season.

Florida Santa's for ya'll south of the border lovers will make for great conversation at any Christmas supper!
